Sabrina & Nate’s Wedding at Valley Green Inn

Sabrina & Nate • September 11, 2026 • Wissahickon Valley

An intimate ceremony by the creek, with heartfelt vows, laughter, and a love story that began just 800 feet apart.

A story that began 800 feet apart

Before they said their vows beside Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia, Sabrina and Nate lived on the very same street in Los Angeles—just 800 feet apart. They had walked past each other’s apartments countless times without realizing how close their lives already were.

It took a dating app to bring them together. Their first adventures were unmistakably theirs: an outdoor ice-skating date, hot chocolate, churros, and a spectacular fall that sent Nate to the emergency room. As Sabrina helped him recover, their relationship grew closer.

Later, they packed what could fit into Sabrina’s RAV4 and made the journey from Los Angeles to Pennsylvania, building a new chapter together. Their ceremony deserved to honor that shared sense of adventure, devotion, and humor.

What made it personal

Their story, in their own words

Before their wedding, I invited Sabrina and Nate to tell me about the life they had built, the moments that still made them laugh, and what they wanted their guests to remember. I used those details to write a Reflection on Love that belonged entirely to them.

Their ceremony included an unplugged welcome, Sabrina’s entrance with her mother, a quiet moment of remembrance, and personal vows they wrote for one another. Their story was never decoration: it was the heart of the ceremony.

France truly made our ceremony unique to us – it was just SO SPECIAL.

When the guests feel the difference

Sabrina later shared that guests told her how moving the ceremony was. One guest, Russell Bakes, independently left his own review after the wedding. That second perspective matters: a ceremony can feel deeply personal to the couple and also draw everyone present into the experience.

I so appreciated his preparations and sincerity. It was wonderful.

My aim with every custom wedding ceremony is to create that kind of experience—one that sounds like the people standing before me and gives their family and friends a genuine moment to share.

A riverside ceremony at Valley Green Inn

The couple chose Valley Green Inn in Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Valley. For their outdoor ceremony, rows of white chairs faced a simple wooden arbor dressed in soft white fabric and florals, with the creek flowing just behind it.

The woodland setting offered a beautiful contrast to the ceremony’s lively personal details. Clear cues, a thoughtful pace, and an unplugged announcement helped keep attention where it belonged: on Sabrina and Nate and the promises they made to each other.

For couples planning their own celebration in Philadelphia, the right ceremony should complement the setting without being defined by it. Learn more on our Philadelphia wedding officiant page, or explore the nearby areas we serve.

A little Philadelphia personality

One personal touch at the wedding was a welcome display featuring Philadelphia’s Rocky statue alongside Sabrina and Nate’s names. It was a playful nod to the city where they celebrated this next chapter together.
