Ellie & Doug’s Wedding at Vixen Hill Farm
Ellie & Doug • June 6, 2026 • Vixen Hill Farm
A personal ceremony beneath the trees, with vows shaped around the future they are building together.

On June 6, 2026, I had the privilege of officiating Ellie and Doug’s wedding at Vixen Hill Farm in Chester County. Beneath the trees, they gathered with family and friends for a ceremony shaped around the life they had already built—and the future they were choosing together.
It was a warm, personal day. My aim was to give their story room to breathe, while keeping the ceremony natural, welcoming, and unmistakably theirs.
A ceremony written around their story
For Ellie and Doug, I wrote a Reflection on Love around an image from their story: a long dock by the water, a home taking shape nearby, and the promise of sunsets still ahead. That glimpse of a future together gave the ceremony a thread that felt personal to them. It also made room for the qualities they saw in each other—patience, kindness, laughter, and a quiet steadiness.
That is what a custom ceremony should do: let the people in the seats recognize the two people standing before them, while hearing their love story in a way they have not heard it before. The details were not decoration; they gave the reflection, the vows, and the afternoon itself a common heart.

What made it personal
A meaningful Blessing of the Hands
One of the ceremony’s most memorable moments came when Ellie and Doug turned toward each other and joined hands for a Blessing of the Hands.
The words invited them to think beyond the wedding day: to the ordinary mornings, the difficult seasons, the celebrations, the laughter, and the quiet gestures of care that make a marriage. There was something beautifully simple about seeing those promises take shape while they held the hands of the person they had chosen.
The custom, repeat-after-me vows that followed carried the same spirit. They were written for Ellie and Doug—not for just any couple—and balanced warmth and sincerity with the humor that belongs to their relationship.

A setting with personal meaning
Vixen Hill Farm was already meaningful to Ellie and her family, making it a particularly personal place for the couple’s ceremony. The woodland paths, natural greenery, and stonework gave the day a setting that felt intimate and distinctive. The photographs capture flowers beneath the trees, the look on Doug’s face during the ceremony, the two of them exchanging vows, and a quiet portrait together beneath a stone arch.
But the most important detail was never the backdrop. It was the way the ceremony reflected who Ellie and Doug are together.
