PERSONAL CEREMONIES. CLEAR GUIDANCE.
A Personal Ceremony With a Professional Process
Ever After Vows is based in nearby Pottstown and serves couples across Chester County. I work with couples planning everything from simple marriage-license signings and intimate elopements to full wedding ceremonies shaped around their story. I had the pleasure of officiating Justin and Madelyn’s wedding at Beale Manor in Parkesburg, and bring that same personal care to ceremonies across the county.
Some couples know exactly what they want when they reach out. Others only know that they do not want a ceremony that feels generic, stiff, or disconnected from who they are. Either way, I provide clear guidance, thoughtful preparation, and a calm presence from our first conversation through the moment you are pronounced married.
Your ceremony should feel personal. The process should feel easy.

A Few Things to Know Before the Ceremony
Chester County accepts marriage-license applications in person by appointment. Both applicants must appear together. Plan ahead for Pennsylvania’s three-day waiting period, and check the county’s current requirements before your appointment.
01
Schedule an In-Person Appointment
Chester County accepts marriage-license applications in person by appointment at the Marriage License Department in West Chester. Both applicants must appear together. The office currently offers extended Wednesday hours until 6:00 PM for marriage-license appointments.
02
Allow for the Three-Day Wait
Apply at least three days before your ceremony. The license is valid for 60 days starting with the issue date shown on the license.
03
Use It Anywhere in Pennsylvania
A Chester County marriage license may be used for a ceremony anywhere in Pennsylvania. Likewise, a Pennsylvania license issued by another county may be used for a ceremony in Chester County.
04
Complete and Return the Paperwork
For a standard officiant-led marriage, I review and complete the marriage certificate and return the required document to the issuing county after the ceremony. Pennsylvania requires the duplicate certificate to be returned within 10 days.
After your marriage is recorded by the county that issued the license, you may need a certified marriage record for name updates. The free Pennsylvania Name-Change Guide explains the process, including Social Security and PennDOT.
