PERSONAL CEREMONIES. CLEAR GUIDANCE.

A Personal Ceremony With a Professional Process

Ever After Vows is based in Pottstown and serves couples throughout Berks County for everything from simple marriage-license signings and intimate elopements to full wedding ceremonies shaped around their story. Our completed Berks County work includes an intimate elopement in Morgantown and a wedding at Reinhart’s Barn on Oak Lane in Bernville.

Some couples know exactly what they want when they reach out. Others only know that they do not want a ceremony that feels generic, stiff, or disconnected from who they are. Either way, I provide clear guidance, thoughtful preparation, and a calm presence from our first conversation through the moment you are pronounced married.

Your ceremony should feel personal. The process should feel easy.

GETTING MARRIED IN BERKS COUNTY

A Few Things to Know Before the Ceremony

Berks County begins the marriage-license process online, followed by a virtual Microsoft Teams appointment. The county currently schedules virtual appointments Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and charges a $65 fee. The license becomes valid on the third day after the appointment and remains valid for 60 days.

01

Complete the Online Application & Virtual Meeting

Complete the Berks County marriage-license application online. Afterward, both applicants must appear together in a virtual meeting to provide identification and sign the license.

02

Allow for the Three-Day Wait

Apply at least three days before your ceremony. The license is valid for 60 days starting with the issue date shown on the license.

03

Use It Anywhere in Pennsylvania

A Berks County marriage license may be used for a ceremony anywhere in Pennsylvania. Likewise, a Pennsylvania license issued by another county may be used for a ceremony in Berks County.

04

Complete and Return the Paperwork

For a standard officiant-led marriage, I review and complete the marriage certificate and return the required document to the issuing county after the ceremony. Pennsylvania requires the duplicate certificate to be returned within 10 days.

Once the issuing county has recorded the marriage, you can request the certified documentation needed for any name change. Our post-wedding name-change checklist for Pennsylvania offers a clear starting point for your next steps.
